Sign ups for BDSM Exchange are now open! To sign up, go here. For detailed instructions, see below. For reference, the tagset is here. You can view or download a spreadsheet of freeform tags here.

If you missed nominations or forgot to nominate something, you may comment to request I manually add up to one fandom, three relationship/character tags and two freeforms!

In order to sign up for BDSM exchange, you must fill out the form with your requests and offers and click submit. This will allow you to be matched to other participants on AO3 - one who you will create a fanwork for, and one or more who will create for you.

You must offer something someone else is requesting at the end of sign ups. You can review the Requests Summary page on AO3 to check. I will contact anyone who is not matchable on offers at the end of sign ups and give them twenty-four hours to add offers or have their sign up deleted.

You may request only one fandom. However, participants who request fewer than three fandoms will not have the exchange held for their gifts if they are unmatchable on requests or their creator defaults, and their pinch hit is not picked up.

For each request and offer, you will find the following fields: Fandom, Characters, Relationships, Additional Tags, Ratings, and for requests, Prompt URL and Description.

Note that for fields that allow you to type in a response, there is a known AO3 bug where some tags will fail to autocomplete. In this case the best thing to do is copy/paste the tag exactly as it is in the tagset, to ensure the form will accept it.

Fandom:

In this field, type in a fandom you would like to request/offer. Once you start typing, the form will offer suggestions. You must enter a fandom in the tagset. The rest of the details for this request/offer will apply only to this fandom.

Character:

In this field, check "Fanart," "Fanfiction" or both.

Relationships:

In this field, you will select at least one character or relationship you would like to request/offer, and no more than twenty. Once you start typing you should receive options in the fandom you entered. You can also check "Any Relationship" to request/offer any relationship in the tagset. Note that this does not mean any relationship in the fandom as a whole. Remember that fanworks can involve any of the characters/relationships you choose, and do not have to involve more than one.

Additional Tags:

In this field, you should select the freeform tags you would like to request/offer. It should also autocomplete. You can click "List 575 additional tags" to open another window with AO3's list, or download the spreadsheet at the top of this post.

You must select at least three additional tags, and no more than twenty. Remember that you could match with a participant on any one of your relationship tags and any one of your additional tags, so you should only select additional tags that you would still enjoy applied to any of the relationships in the same request. You can offer the same fandom multiple times if you would like to make sure that certain additional tags are only applied to certain relationships.

Ratings:

This field is for matching on fanworks which include explicit smut, or don't. It is not binding on the final rating of the work when it comes to other subjects. Select "Explicit" to request/offer smut, and "Not Rated" to request/offer works without smut, or both.

For requests, there are two more fields:

Prompt URL:

In this box, you can link to another page with more details about your requests. Many people choose to do this because external pages can be edited after sign ups, can be bookmarked and linked more easily, and allow greater control over formatting. If you link an external letter, make sure it's accessible to users who aren't logged in and that the url won't change (e.g., if you link a tumblr post and change your screen name later in the exchange). If you use Google Drive, it's a good idea to publish your page and link to that version, because some operating systems and browsers have trouble with unpublished google docs, especially if they're heavily formatted.

Description:

In this box you can add additional details about your requests directly in the sign up form.

DNWs (Do Not Wants) are binding on your creator, provided that they are reasonable, clearly worded, and do not directly contradict your request (e.g., if you DNW noncon and request additional tags which include noncon, your DNW will not be enforced). DNWs must also be entered in the sign up form to be enforced, as external pages can be edited later. I may contact users with unclear or contradictory DNWs before assignments go out and request changes.

Details aside from DNWs are optional, and your creator is not required to follow them. However, many creators find it encouraging to know more about their recipients' likes and ideas, and especially in the case of broader freeforms, to have prompts to follow.

At the end of each request/offer, you can click "Add another request?" to add more, up to ten of each. (This is the maximum AO3 allows). When you're finished, click submit and you've signed up!
If you don't have an account you can create one now.
HTML doesn't work in the subject.
