You may request 1-10 fandoms with 1-2 mediums, 1-20 relationships and 3-20 freeforms per request. You must request 3 different fandoms to be guaranteed a gift. If you request 1-2 fandoms, I will still post your pinch hit as applicable but will not hold the exchange for your gift. You may request the same fandom multiple times to request different relationship, medium and freeform combinations, but it will not count towards your minimum 3 fandoms.
You may add extra details about your request in your optional details box, or link to a letter with more information on an external page, such as likes, dislikes, prompts, etc. Optional details are optional except for DNWs (Do Not Wants). These must be in the sign up form itself - not an external page - to be enforced, and also must be clearly labeled, reasonable, clearly worded, and not contradict your request. You may not use DNWs to require anything but a specific work. For the purpose of BDSM Exchange, you also may not DNW all unrequested kinks, "formal BDSM," or anything else ambiguous, but you may feel free to list as many clearly defined kinks or practices as you like in your DNW list.
While optional details are optional, I strongly encourage you to use them to describe something about your likes and/or prompts, additional kinks you're interested in receiving (especially if your freeforms are not very specific), or, if you're really open to anything, to say so explicitly. Many participants find this information encouraging. I also encourage you to browse the request summary for ideas to add to your DNW and likes lists.
During matching you will be assigned a recipient requesting at least one fandom, medium, relationship and freeform tag that you offered in combination. Therefore you must offer at least one combination someone else is requesting. Participants who are unmatchable on offers will be contacted when sign ups close and given 24 hours to respond adding offers, after which their sign ups will be deleted. Because there are many freeforms, browsing requests may help you ensure your offers are matchable.
Explicit sex is not a requirement for this exchange, but some sort of BDSM/BDSM-adjacent theme is. Freeforms with "Smut-" appended to the beginning require explicit sex to fulfill in addition to the rest of the freeform, which is defined as graphic, E-rated descriptions of sex in fic, and as a visual depiction of sexual activity with an M or E rating in art. For this purpose, kissing, making out, and nudity do not constitute sexual activity alone, although masturbation or toys may in the absence of a second character.
