Nominations are now open! Please refer to this post for formatting/eligibility.

Fandoms:

All fandoms are eligible, including Original Work, RPF and Creator's Choice of Fandom. (Refer to rules post for RPF-specific exceptions.) Please subdivide Star Wars by specific property (Both Star Wars - All Media Types AND Star Wars Legends are ineligible. Name the specific property, e.g., "Star Wars Original Trilogy," "Star Wars Legends: New Jedi Order Series.") Please divide MCU into MCU (for movies) and specific show. Please nominate Buffy, Angel and related fandoms under Buffyverse. I'm open to thoughts on other large properties. Crossovers, including between subproperties, should be nominated under Crossover Fandom, with the specific property in parentheses after each charater (So, Crossover Fandom: Character A (Property A)/Character B (Property B).)

Relationships:

Several nominations formats/types are eligible: Solo: Character A (just A is nominated and can be alone or in any relationship), Character A tops Character B (Character A tops or doms B), Character A/Character B (Character A and B are in a romantic/sexual/play relationship without topping preferences specified), and Character A & Character B (platonic relationship). Topping here refers to domming or "giving"/applying the kink freeform in kinks without D/s, not penetration.

Original characters are allowed. Any traits that aren't specified by the tag are the creator's choice, including gender. "Any X" nominations are allowed, but you must not nominate undifferentiated groups to avoid ambiguity. "Giles tops Any Scoob(ies)" is fine. "Giles tops the Scoobies" is not fine.

Freeforms:

You may nominate any freeform that includes an on-topic kink for the exchange. Anything included under the BDSM acronym is fine. Kinks that are not specifically included under the acronym, but which I deem generally on-topic for a BDSM/harder kink exchange, are also fine. This is inherently subjective, but you may feel free to ask here/in email/on Discord before nominating freeforms.

Some categories of kink I would consider generally on topic: bondage, discipline, dominance, submission, sadomasochism/all pain kinks (per acronym), body modificaton, roleplay, fucking machines, comparatively unusual body part fetishes, material/clothing fetishes that are strongly BDSM-associated (e.g., leather) or unusual.

Some kinks that are not on topic alone, but may be added to on-topic tags: most fantasy creatures/scenarios (please specify what the centaurs/succubi/etc. are doing that is kinky), non-con or dub-con without additional kink, anal, oral, fingering, unspecified sex toys, lingerie, creampie or other ejaculation or vaginal-fluid based kinks, menstrual sex, sex positions

Any formatting is acceptable, but some specific notes:

-Smut is not required in this exchange, but you may request/offer "Smut - [tag]" to make it a requirement for your works. This applies to both fic and art.

-Tags such as "Worldbuilding - All Succubi are Doms" or "Any Kink with Anal" are acceptable means of incorporating ineligible tags.

-Discussion on discord has made it clear that "formal BDSM" has radically different definitions across exchange participants, and I encourage you not to use it or attempt to exclude it in freeforms. It is allowed, but I will be very reluctant to offer emergency pinch hits on the basis of your creator's definition not matching yours. Naming specific practices you want may be more successful. (E.g., "Unnegotiated Bondage," "Collaring Ceremony," "Legally Recognized Kink," "Old Guard Leather," "Kink Negotiation - Flogging," etc.)

Can I get a ruling on fisting and anal depth play? I could see them going either way, since they're focused on penetration but still pretty damn kinky in most people's books.

Thanks for the question! I wouldn't approve fisting by itself, but yes, I'd consider anal depth play to "count." Freeforms that involve any form of anal training would be okay (under body modification) or pain (under sadomasochism), and I'd also be willing to approve general "Extreme Anal" tags. I hope that helps!

How will we know if a freeform tag has been rejected? Will we be able to replace rejected freeform tags with others?

On the AO3 interface, if you reopen the tagset on AO3 after nominating, the Nominate button will be replaced with a My Nominations button. Returning to this page will show you your nominations. Approved nominations will have a green checkmark next to them, rejected nominations will have a red X, and unreviewed nominations will have a gray question mark. You'll have an Edit button at the top right of this page. You can edit any nomination that's still unreviewed, and add nominations to any slot left empty, but you can't change approved or rejected nominations.

That said, I will be posting nominations clarification posts to this dreamwidth community every few days with a time limit to edit or challenge nominations I intend to reject, so you'll have a time window to change anything I intend to reject. The first one should go up later tonight.

Since there are distinct smut tags, does that mean the none "Smut - [thing]" tags can't be used in smut? And if there are two versions of the same tag, one with smut at the front and the other does not, if someone has the non-labeled with smut one, does that mean they're drawing a line in the sand that they don't want smut? Should there be a "Smut" version of every tag? Would you have to tag with both if you're ok with it being smut or not? It just feels like that'll take up so many of a limited number of tags available, make it harder.

By default, smut is optional but allowed. Prefacing a freeform tag with "Smut" means that smut is required to fully complete that tag, just like any other element of a freeform tag. If you would only be happy if you received smut, you should nominate a smut version of your tags and request only those. Otherwise, you should/can request tags without "Smut" and you may or may not receive smut. I hope that helps!

I'm not sure that i could command you be cruel to you compel you - jonphaedrus is an appropriate nomination. Even if you are fine with fic as their own fandoms for the purposes of this exchange, that series is a pretty standard villian redemption fic - there's no reason to nominate this specific version of the characters instead of just nominating them normally under the Pokémon games fandom.

Thanks for the quetsion. All fandoms are eligible, including recursive fanwork nominations provided that a public permission statement is available by the author. Since I can't be familiar with every fandom, I don't think there's any way I could judge how distinct every possible nominated fanwork is!

if I wanted to nominate a threesome with a dom, a switch, and a sub (where the dom tops the other two and the switch tops the sub but subs to the dom) is there a way to do it under the nomination format, or is it better to just nominate it with the / format and specify in a letter?

Hrm, good question. This is beginning to resemble a math problem, but if the characters are A, B, and C, I think you could do "A tops B and C & B tops C" if the character names fit.

Hey, I noticed that all my ship nominations for Visual Prison (anime) got rejected. I'm pretty sure they were all formatted correctly, so I'm not sure what the issue was with them?

Thanks for asking! Either there was a glitch when I put the form through or I checked something wrong, but either way there was a problem and I had to delete and recreate some tags. They should all have been recreated under Visual Prison (Anime), but if there's anything missing there please let me know so I can add them manually.
